Hi everyone,

You are probably wondering why there is a new forum system being implemented for Con-Nichiwa. Well, over the past few years forums have been getting attacked more and more by spammers. Many systems implement a process where the forum staff have to micro-manage the forum to make sure spammers don't take over the site. This is very counter-productive and causes the staff and you a lot of headache.

Recently, Saboten-Con implemented IP.Board as their forum system to see if it truly did alleviate the burden on the staff to manage spammers. The results speak for themselves, after having this new forum up for 5 months they have had ZERO spammers make a post on the site. This was the main reason behind moving to this new system. There are many other benefits to using IP.Board for our forum system as well. To start it will allow us tighter integration with facebook and twitter and allow you, the user, to log in with your facebook account instead of creating a new username/password to remember.

Can the forum for Vendors be opened? I would like to post there, and I'm sure other artist who will be in Artist Alley would as well, so that we have a chance to tell people what we will be selling and who will be there.
