Greetings Con-nichiwa fans!

October is upon us and as such the con is only 6 months away! Aren't you excited?!
If the answer is yes and you want to help out, we are looking for volunteers.

Thing is, I'm not here to recruit general volunteers, I'm looking for mega volunteers. We are opening a new division this year called "moderators." This position is not for your run-of-the-mill volunteer, this is for the individual who truly cares about how the con is run and is passionate about helping out! These people will be assigned to assist panelists, events, and anywhere else where an experienced hand is needed. Ah. There's the magic word - "experienced."

Not only does a moderator need to be honestly motivated, but they also need to have prior volunteering experience. A passionate person is great, but if they don't know how to handle the job, they aren't really helping, are they?

I don't think I explained this too well, so please don't be put off.

^Do you need help writing something for moderators because I could help you with it... I'm sort of experienced at moderating and wouldn't mind collaborating in writing something up :-D. Er, you can PM me.

I'm interested in becoming a normal volunteer but not a moderator since I have 0 experience as a volunteer. However this coming con will be the 3rd con im attending and I definately saw alot that can be improved that will make 2012's con better then last years con. Like for example a plan or a written out post/guide to where people can go to and hang out or how to move along hallways in a nice orderly fashion to fix the major problem 2011 had with a big crowd of people blocking the walkway and hallway. Perhaps even a post/guide to have up during the dance at night. Im sure we would like to avoid someone else passing out or getting hurt again this year. So at least something that says to not dance if exhausted and to drink plenty to avoid any danger to thier health. I have alot of ideas to help everyone to protect themselves and make things more pleasing for everyone else that attends.
